Durham, N.C. — The contract of Sussex County Miners RHP Jesse Beal has been purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies organization, the Can-Am League announced on Thursday.Beal, 26, joined the Miners in July 2016 and was superb out of the bullpen, going 2-0 with a 2.59 ERA and five saves in 29 appearances, striking out 31 hitters in 24.1 innings of work while walking just eight and limiting opposing hitters to a .198 batting average.
