Photo Credit: Drew Wohl/Rockland Boulders DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Rockland Boulders RHP David Palladino (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 15. The Emerson, N.J. resident turned in a dominant outing on Wednesday against the New Jersey Jackals. Over six shutout innings, Palladino allowed just one hit and three walks, striking out five. He took a no-decision in the game that Rockland eventually won 5-4. On the season, Palladino is 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA in 12 appearances (four starts). He has struck out 46 opposing hitters and walked just 13 in 29 innings. Palladino is in the midst of his first season in Rockland and independent baseball overall. He was a fifth round pick of the New York Yankees in the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft out of Howard College in Big Spring, Tex., and spent five seasons in the Yankees system. His highest level in the system was Class A Charleston (S.C.) in the South Atlantic League, where he made 24 appearances in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
