Photo: Phil Hoops / Sussex County Miners Thornhill, Ontario — Sussex County Miners RHP David Palladino is the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 22-28, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician. Palladino was superb in his only outing of the week, earning a complete-game victory in a 6-1 win over Ottawa Sunday. The native of Emerson, N.J., limited the Champions to five hits while striking out seven as the Miners completed a 5-1 week and increased their lead on first place in the standings to 3.5 games. Palladino improved his record on the season to 3-1 with the win. In his first season with the Miners, he has been used both as a starter and a reliever on the league’s top pitching staff.
