JULY 23 LEAGUE RECAP Photo Courtesy: Marc Lafleur/Ottawa Champions Ottawa 10, Quebec 1 – Box Score The Ottawa Champions scored seven runs in the second inning to jump ahead 7-0 and would roll from there to a 10-1 win over Quebec. Ottawa banged out 13 hits with eight of the nine batters in the lineup collecting at least one. Champions 3B Jordan Caillouet went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI while LF Coco Johnson drove in three runs and scored one in a 2-for-4 night. Center fielder Chase Harris (pictured) nailed a grand slam and RF Steve Brown launched a two-run shot in the seven-run second inning. Champions starting pitcher Jordan Kurokawa tossed eight solid innings to earn the win. Kurokawa gave up an earned run on seven hits and struck out six batters. The righty is now 7-3 on the year. For Quebec in the losing effort, leadoff hitter Nick Van Stratten went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Trois-Rivieres 10, New Jersey 6 – Box Score The Trois-Rivieres Aigles notched their fourth straight victory as they defeated New Jersey by the score of 10-6.
