OROPESA'S GRAND SLAM LIFTS CHAMPIONS

1B Ricky Oropesa (pictured) was the hero on Saturday night, stepping up to the plate with his team down 5-2 and blasting a grand slam to put his team up 6-5. The home run, which came in the eighth inning, was Oropesa’s fourth of the season and was one of his two hits in the win. 1B Conrad Gregor hit his ninth home run of the season for the Jackals in the losing effort. 2B Steve Nyisztor drove in the other two runs for the Champions in their narrow victory.Elsewhere, the Capitales defeated the Aigles 10-1, the Champions defeated the Jackals 11-3 in the completion of a suspended game, and the Miners defeated the Boulders 3-1.
