O'NEILL LIFTS JACKALS IN THE NINTH

LF Michael O’Neill (pictured) was the hero for the Jackals in Sunday’s first game at Yogi Berra Stadium, as his walk-off single pushed New Jersey to a 4-3 win over Trois-Rivieres. New Jersey trailed 3-2 heading to the bottom of the ninth, but RF Daniel Rockett led off the inning with a single and advanced to second when CF D’Vontrey Richardson drew a walk. A sacrifice moved both runners up, and Rockett scored the tying run on a passed ball. That set up O’Neill, who drove in Richardson to end the game.Elsewhere, New Jersey won game two 6-0, and Rockland topped Quebec 5-4.
