Just an inning after the Miners scored twice to keep the ballgame alive, Sussex County got a walkoff single from C Elvin Soto (pictured) to claim a 5-4 win over Shikoku Island. Tied 4-4 heading to the bottom of the 12th, the Japanese team walked the leadoff hitter with a runner already on second thanks to the international tiebreaker. Following a hit by pitch, Soto stepped up and lined the winning single.Elsewhere, Cuba beat Quebec 7-3, Rockland topped New Jersey 6-2 and Ottawa rolled past Trois-Rivieres 12-2.
