MINERS SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER FROM CHAMPIONS

Sussex County swept a doubleheader from Ottawa Tuesday night. In game one, the Miners jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings of play and would never look back as they won, 6-2. Sussex County leadoff hitter Brenden Webb (pictured) led the way offensively going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a RBI. In game two, Nate Irving singled home SS Steve Nyisztor with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Miners a 2-1 walk-off win.Rockland-Trois-Rivieres and Quebec-New-Jersey were both postponed due to rain and will have doubleheaders on Wednesday.
