MINERS' SILVA NAMED FINAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Sussex County Miners INF Rubi Silva (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending September 4. Silva hit .433 (13-for-30) this week, picking up three doubles, two triples, and six RBI. His most memorable effort occurred in Monday’s regular season finale against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles. In an 11-9 11-inning defeat, Silva was 5-for-5, doubling three times, driving in a run, and scoring two more.
