MINERS DEFEAT CAPITALES FOR SEVENTH STRAIGHT WIN

Left fielder Daniel Rockett (pictured) launched a two-run home run in the second inning to give Sussex County a 2-0 lead and that is all the Miners would need in a 5-1 win over Quebec. Rockett finished the night going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI while RF Alexi Colon added a pair of hits in three at-bats and scored a run. The win by Sussex County was their seventh straight and improved their record to 35-33 on the year.Elsewhere, New Jersey beat Trois-Rivieres, 9-3 and Rockland defeated Ottawa in 10 innings, 7-5.
