AUGUST 25 LEAGUE RECAP Sussex County 4, Quebec 3 – Box Score Jarred Mederos’ (pictured) RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning capped off a two-out, two-run rally to give Sussex County a 4-3 walk-off win over Quebec. The Capitales tallied a run in the top of the eighth to grab a 3-2 lead but saw it slip way in the ninth as they could not get the final out to secure the victory. Mederos went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Martin Figueroa launched a home run in three official at-bats along with two runs and a run batted in. Sussex County had nine total hits in the contest with eight batters collecting at least one. Miners pitcher Matt Kostalos tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and notched his second win with the team. Kostalos gave up a pair of hits in the seven batters that he faced. Kalian Sams, Maxx Tissenbaum and Adam Ehrlich each chipped in two hits apiece for Quebec.
