MALONEY NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Leading the Can-Am League in two of the three Triple Crown categories, the Rockland Boulders’ Joe Maloney (pictured) has been named the 2017 Can-Am League Player of the Year. The award was voted upon by league field managers and media relations representatives. With two games remaining in the season, Maloney leads the Can-Am League in home runs with 34 and RBI with 99. He is hitting .278 (103-for-371), and has racked up 24 doubles and two triples to go with the 34 homers and 99 RBI. Maloney was named the Can-Am League’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending August 6, and recently picked up Can-Am League Rawlings Player of the Month honors for the month of August.
