JACOBS' TWO HOME RUNS LEADS MINERS TO VICTORY

The Sussex County Miners held off a late comeback to defeat the Quebec Capitales 8-7. For the Miners, starter Francisco Rodriguez earned the win hurling five innings, allowing four earned runs while reliever Josh Wood recorded the save throwing a scoreless ninth inning. Sussex County 1B Chris Jacobs (pictured) hit two home runs in the game. Elsewhere, New Jersey topped Trois-Rivieres 9-3, the Cuban National Team blanked Ottawa 12-0 and Shikoku Island edged Rockland 9-8.
