JACKALS WIN WALK-OFF AGAINST CUBAN NATIONAL TEAM

The Jackals came from a run down in the final inning to top the Cuban National Team on Sunday. The Jackals struck for four runs in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Cuban National Team failed to score until the ninth inning, when they rattled off five runs to take a 5-2 lead. The big play of the inning came on a two-run double from 2B Juan Torriente. Then, with the bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning, 3B Yariel Vargas drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk. The next batter, CF Dvontrey Richardson (pictured), drove in the game-winning run with a single, giving the Jackals their 22nd win of the year. Elsewhere, Quebec defeated Dominican Republic 9-0, Rockland defeated Ottawa 11-8 and the game between Sussex County and Trois-Rivieres was suspended in the eighth inning due to rain.
