August 9 Recap New Jersey 4, Sussex County 0 (Game 1/7 Innings) – Box Score In game one of a doubleheader, New Jersey starting pitcher Brendan Butler turned in a terrific performance as the Jackals defeated Sussex County, 4-0. Butler tossed a four-hit complete game shutout in which he gave up two walks and struck out eight. The righty has now made four consecutive quality starts, three of which resulted in victories. Butler is now 5-2 on the season. Offensively for New Jersey, CF David Harris (pictured) led the way going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored. Jackals RF Jay Gonzalez doubled, drove in a run and walked three times while 2B Nelson Ward chipped in a solo home run. For Sussex County in the loss, SS Cito Culver had a 2-for-2 outing.
