JACKALS, MINERS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER

New Jersey and Sussex County split a doubleheader Tuesday night. In game one, the Jackals scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead and would go on to defeat the Miners by the score of 8-5. New Jersey had 11 hits in the contest and was led by 3B Taylor Brennan who went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI. In game two, Sussex County starter Josh Wood (pictured) tossed a sensational game on the mound and led the Miners to a 4-0 win over New Jersey. Wood tossed a 95-pitch complete game shutout allowing only one hit and two walks with eight strikeouts. In other Can-Am action, Trois-Rivieres beat Quebec, 9-4 and Rockland topped Ottawa, 5-1.
