AUGUST 4 LEAGUE RECAP New Jersey 7, Quebec 5 – Box Score New Jersey held a 5-2 lead through four innings of play and would go on from there to beat Quebec by a final of 7-5. The Jackals jumped out quickly to a 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run home run by CF David Harris (pictured). After New Jersey added another run in the second, the Capitales scored a pair of their own in the same inning to make it 3-2. The Jackals increased their advantage to 5-2 in the fourth on an error by Quebec 1B Zach Wilson and a 3B Taylor Oldham groundout. The Capitales once again cut the deficit to one in the fifth on a solo blast by 3B TJ White and an RBI single by DH Adam Ehrlich. New Jersey would then add two insurance runs in the eighth and hold off a Quebec rally in the ninth to win the contest. Harris went 1-for-4 with two RBIs while RF John Ruettiger scored two runs in a 2-for-4 outing. Jackals pitcher Jose Velez threw three innings of relief and notched the victory.
