MAY 22 LEAGUE RECAP New Jersey 14, Ottawa 9 – Box The New Jersey Jackals scored 12 runs in the first three innings of the contest and would outlast the Ottawa Champions by the score of 14-9. The Jackals pounded out 20 hits with seven batters having multi-hit games. New Jersey 3B Seth Spivey led the way going 4-for-6 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and three RBI. Jackals DH Dean Green added a home run and three RBI while leadoff hitter Connor Hofmann had three hits in six at-bats and scored three times. New Jersey pitcher Vin Mazzaro tossed three shutout innings of relief in notching the win. Mazzaro allowed a hit and struck out four in 29 pitches thrown. For Ottawa in defeat, 1B Vicent Guglietti had two of the team’s 13 hits, including a home run, along with two runs scored and two RBI. Quebec at Rockland (Postponed – Rain) The game scheduled between Quebec and Rockland has been postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 23 at 10:30 AM.
