JACKALS HOLD OFF LATE-GAME SURGE FROM MINERS

The New Jersey Jackals fought back a late-game surge from the Sussex County Miners to earn a 6-3 win. The Jackals built a 5-0 lead in the first six innings, with the fifth run coming as a solo home run from 3B Taylor Brennan (pictured), who was 3-for-4 with three RBI in the game. But the Miners mounted a charge in the final three innings, scoring once in the seventh and twice in the bottom of the ninth before reliever Zach Arneson forced the final out of the game. Starting pitcher David Richardson was tabbed as the winner as he went seven innings and gave up one run on six hits while striking out seven batters.Elsewhere in the League, Rockland shutout Ottawa 8-0.
