JULY 7 LEAGUE RECAP Trois-Rivieres 9, Rockland 8 (10 Innings) – Box Score Catcher Anthony Hermelyn singled home CF Alberth Martinez with the game winning run in the 10th inning as Trois-Rivieres beat Rockland, 9-8. This contest was a wild one as both teams traded the lead throughout the night. The Boulders jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a grand slam from DH Marcus Nidiffer. The Aigles came roaring back with seven runs of their own over the second and third innings to grab a 7-4 advantage. Rockland struck again in the fourth when CF Mike Montville blasted a three-run home run to tie the score up at 7-7. Each team then plated a run to force extra innings where Trois-Rivieres won it on the Hermelyn single. Martinez went 2-for-5 with three runs scored while Hermelyn and SS Sam Dexter collected a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Aigles pitcher Shaun Ellis tossed a scoreless 10th inning to notch his first victory. Ellis struck out two batters and walked one in the five batters faced.
