HALE NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK AFTER DOMINANT OUTING

Photo Credit: Marc Lafleur/Ottawa Champions DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Ottawa Champions RHP Jake Hale (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 3. The first-year member of the Champions tossed a gem on Wednesday at the New Jersey Jackals. Over 7.1 shutout innings, Hale scattered four hits and did not walk a batter. He struck out six Jackals en route to earning his second victory of the season, as Ottawa won the game 9-1. Hale is now 2-1 on the season with an 0.49 ERA, which ranks second among qualifiers in the Can-Am League. Over 18.1 innings in his three starts, he has struck out 12 opposing hitters and walked just one. A native of San Diego, Calif., Hale owns seven seasons of experience in independent baseball entering 2018. He pitched in the Can-Am League in 2011 and 2012 with the Brockton Rox and New Jersey Jackals, respectively, working as a reliever both seasons. In 2011, Hale posted a 3.07 ERA and 15 saves for Brockton, and improved his ERA to 2.23 in 2012 with New Jersey. Hale spent 2013-2017 in the Atlantic…
