MAY 18TH LEAGUE RECAP Rockland 6, Sussex County 3 – Box The Rockland Boulders scored four runs in the fifth inning to overcome a 3-2 deficit and beat the Sussex County Miners by the final of 6-3. Rockland tied the score up at 3-3 when 3B Cody Regis singled home C Alex Herceg from second base. In the next at-bat, with runners on first and third, DH Marcus Nidiffer broke the tie when he launched a three-run home run. It was Nidiffer’s only hit of the game in a 1-for-5 effort. Regis went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI while Herceg plated a pair of runs and RF Kevin Krause drove in two. Boulders starter Tommy Lawrence gave up three earned runs over six innings of work to notch the win. Lawrence gave up a walk and seven hits to go along with three strikeouts. Quebec 6, New Jersey 1 – Box Quebec took the lead for good with a three-run third inning as the Capitales downed the New Jersey Jackals by a 6-1 score.
