Robert Stock seems unlikely to forget the last few weeks of 2017.The 28-year-old righthanded pitcher got a new contract with a major league organization, signing with the San Diego Padres and getting assigned to their top minor league team in El Paso. The reliever was a workhorse with the New Jersey Jackals two years ago, appearing in 52 games in the 100-game season. Stock fanned 73 hitters in 60 innings and gave up only 47 hits, finishing with a 1-2 record, five saves and a 2.85 ERA.
