Since reliever Robert Stock (New Jersey ’16) has not pitched above Class AA, the first-year non-roster righty with San Diego may need more seasoning, but the former catcher is getting an extra boost from All-Star first baseman Eric Hosmer as both start their career with San Diego.Stock came in from the bullpen with the bases loaded and two out Monday night, and needed only three pitches to fan Carlos Puello. That gave Hosmer the chance to explain when he first heard about the native Californian.
