FORMER JACKAL MOONEY EARNS TRIPLE-A PROMOTION

Another former New Jersey Jackals infielder who is close to breaking into the major leagues. Peter Mooney, who signed with Miami after playing with the Jackals throughout the 2015 season, finds his name on the roster of Triple-A New Orleans this offseason. After a year in the Can-Am League, he played regularly this summer at Double-A Jacksonville for the Marlins and virtually equaled his offensive production at New Jersey, hitting .258 with decent middle infield numbers of four homers and 29 RBI.
