Johnny Hellweg has been pitching professionally for 10 seasons including a 42-day stay in the major leagues four years ago when the Milwaukee Brewers gave him seven starts (1-4, 6.75), but the 6-foot-7 Michigan native could not have imagined what was ahead of him after he had saved 19 games for the New Jersey Jackals and his Can-Am contract was sold to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization with a mere 10 days remaining in the minor league campaign.
