CHRISMON NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK

The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Ottawa Champions RHP Austin Chrismon (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 31. Chrismon picked up a pair of wins on the mound this week. On Tuesday, he faced the Quebec Capitales at home, scattering eight hits and three runs, walking two and striking out five. Ottawa won the game 4-3. He returned to the mound on Sunday to battle the Trois-Rivieres Aigles, working seven shutout innings, allowing just five hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out seven as Ottawa went on to win 6-0.
