CHAMPIONS SHUTOUT JACKALS

Ottawa starting pitcher Yean Carlos Gil (pictured) and four relievers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Champions defeated the New Jersey Jackals, 6-0. Gil tossed the first five innings giving up the three hits while striking out five batters. The southpaw notched the victory and is now 6-4 on the season. The four relievers of Laetten Galbraith, Josh Blanco, Randy Hamrick and Tyler Wilson finished up the game and allowed only two walks and fanned five hitters.The rest of the action is tonight as Quebec visits Rockland and Sussex County hosts Trois-Rivieres.
