AUGUST 2 EVENING LEAGUE RECAP Photo Courtesy: Marc Lafleur/Ottawa Champions Ottawa 5, New Jersey 4 – Box Score The Ottawa Champions scored two runs in the seventh inning to overcome a 4-3 deficit and beat New Jersey, 5-4. After a scoreless first inning to start off the contest, the Jackals jumped out on top 3-0 in the second on a three-run home run by 3B Taylor Oldham. Ottawa got on the board in the home half of the second as 1B Vincent Guglietti brought in C Zak Colby on an RBI groundout. After New Jersey added a run on a 1B Nolan Meadows sacrifice fly in the third, the Champions came back with a pair of runs in the same inning to cut the Jackals lead to 4-3. The score would stay that way until the seventh when Ottawa overtook New Jersey for good by scoring two runs on a DH Sebastien Boucher single and an error by Jackals SS Carlos Triunfel. Colby went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored while CF Chase Harris (pictured) added two hits in three at-bats and plated a run.
