JULY 9 LEAGUE RECAP Photo Courtesy: Marc Lafleur/Ottawa Champions Ottawa 8, Sussex County 7 – Box Score First baseman Steve Nyisztor singled home RF Steve Brown (pictured) with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as Ottawa defeated Sussex County in a stunning walk-off, 8-7. The Miners carried a 7-4 lead into the final frame only to see the Champions score four runs and win the contest. Ottawa collected 12 hits as a team with eight of the nine batters picking-up at least one. Champions SS Daniel Bick went 2-for-5 with two runs scored while C Zak Colby had a pair of hits in three at-bats and drove in three runs. Designated hitter Sebastien Boucher also chipped in a three-hit night with a run scored and an RBI for Ottawa. Champions pitcher Daniel Carela allowed two earned runs on two hits in 1 2/3 innings pitched and notched his first victory. Carela struck out two in the eight batters faced. For Sussex County in the losing effort, 1B Audy Ciriaco went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Quebec 1, Trois-Rivieres 0 – Box Score Quebec starting pitcher Arik Sikula threw eight sensational innings…
