July 14 Recap Photo Courtesy: Marc Lafleur, Ottawa Champions Ottawa 18, Sussex County 15 – Box Score Ottawa scored four runs in the eighth inning to take a 16-13 lead and would go on from there to defeat Sussex County in an absolute wild affair, 18-15. This contest took 4 hours and 36 minutes to complete and will go down as the longest nine-inning game in Can-Am League history. Both teams at Skylands Stadium combined for 33 runs (ties a league record) on 31 hits. The Champions pounded out 20 hits in the contest with six batters collecting at least two of them. Ottawa 1B Vincent Guglietti led the way at the plate going 5-for-6 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Champions LF Brian Portelli scored three runs and drove in four in a 2-for-5 night while CF Steve Brown and 2B Leonardo Reginatto (pictured) each banged out three hits…
