CHAMPIONS HOLD OFF LATE PUSH FROM MINERS

The Ottawa Champions held off a late surge from the Sussex County Miners to claim a 4-3 win. Ottawa scored the first run of the night in the bottom of the fourth inning CF Sebastien Boucher (pictured) scored on an error. Boucher scored again in the sixth on a single from RF Kenny Bryant to take a 2-0 lead. After the Miners scored in the top of the seventh on a single from DH Carl Thomore, the Champions added two more runs in the bottom of the frame.Elsewhere, New Jersey topped Quebec 4-2 and Trois-Rivieres edged Rockland 5-3.
