MAY 30 AFTERNOON LEAGUE RECAP Ottawa 9, New Jersey 1 (Game 1) – Box Score It was all Ottawa in this contest as the Champions downed New Jersey 9-1 in game one of the day-night doubleheader. Ottawa received another sensational performance from starting pitcher Jake Hale. Hale went 7 1/3 innings allowing only four hits while striking out six in 95 pitches thrown. The 32-year-old righty has now tossed 15 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings and has allowed only one walk in 18 1/3 total innings pitched. The Champions pounded out 19 hits in the contest with six batters having multi-hit games. Champions 3B Jordan Caillouet went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI while SS Daniel Bick and 2B Steve Nyisztor each collected three hits and scored a run. Designated hitter Michael Blanke chipped in his first home run of the season. For New Jersey in the loss, DH Dean Green went 2-for-4 with a home run.
