CHAMPIONS ACE AUMONT NAMED PITCHER OF THE MONTH

Thornhill, Ontario — Ottawa Champions RHP Phillippe Aumont is the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the Month for the month of July, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician. In five starts, Aumont went 2-1 with a 1.50 ERA, striking out 48 hitters in 36.0 innings of work while walking just seven, and limiting opposing hitters to a .197 average. His most impressive outing came July 16 against Rockland, when he set a league record with 18 strikeouts en route to a complete-game victory. The Gatineau, Quebec, native leads the Can-Am League with a 2.00 ERA and 108 strikeouts and is second with 85.2 innings pitched and four complete games. He has allowed just two home runs all season.
