“A lot of guys played well throughout the spring,” new Colorado manager Bud Black told The Denver Post as the Cactus League season wound down. “But we just felt that the at-bats (Stephen) Cardullo was throwing up there, (plus) the right-handed bat component, as well as his ability to play the corner outfield position(s), as well as first base, it just made sense.”And so it went as former Rockland Boulders standout Cardullo went from non-roster invitee to the Opening Day 25-man roster for the Rockies.
