Durham, N.C. – The St. Louis Cardinals organization has purchased the contract of New Jersey Jackals RHP Johnny Walter, the Can-Am League announced on Monday.Walter was excellent in four starts this season with the first-place Jackals, going 3-0 with a league-best 1.00 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 27 innings of work while limiting opposing hitters to a .149 average. He was named the league’s Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 29.
