The Capitales held off the Miners on Thursday night, moving 28 games above .500 in the process. The win also gave them a narrow one-game lead over the Rockland Boulders for the league’s best record. After scoring once in the first, the Capitales took a 4-0 lead in the fifth. After 2B Yordan Manduley slapped an RBI single to make it 2-0, 1B Jorden Lennerton (pictured) launched a two-run double to extend the lead to four. Lennerton picked up his 82nd RBI of the season on the play. Elsewhere, the Jackals topped the Boulders 3-2 and the Champions beat the Aigles 12-7.
