CAPITALES EDGE AIGLES TO CAPTURE FIRST PLACE

Left fielder James McOwen (pictured) hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to give Quebec a 3-0 lead and that proved to be the difference in the game as the Capitales edged past Trois-Rivieres, 3-2. The victory by Quebec was their third straight and puts them in first place alone in the Can-Am League standings. Capitales DH Kalian Sams and C Maxx Tissenbaum led the way offensively going both 2-for-4 with Sams driving in a run and Tissenbaum scoring one. In other league action, Ottawa beat Sussex County, 7-0 and New Jersey defeated Rockland, 8-3.
