BOULDERS SHUTOUT JACKALS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT GAME

JULY 29 AFTERNOON LEAGUE RECAP Rockland 3, New Jersey 0 – Box Score Rockland starting pitcher Garrett Johnson and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Boulders defeated New Jersey, 3-0. It was the second consecutive shutout of the Jackals and in the process helped Rockland take 3-of-4 in the series. Johnson tossed the first seven innings of the contest allowing only the four hits while striking out nine in 103 pitches. The bullpen duo of Nick Kennedy and Kyle Hansen threw the final two innings giving up only a pair of walks. Johnson notched the win and is now 5-2 on the season. Offensively for the Boulders, RF Conor Bierfeldt led the way going 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Rockland DH Conrad Gregor went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs while 1B Mikael Mogues added a hit in three at-bats and scored a run. Ottawa 7, Trois-Rivieres 5 – Box Score Ottawa rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to overcome a 5-4 deficit and defeat Trois-Rivieres by the score of 7-5.
