Tim Adleman’s long-awaited and successful first game in the major leagues, three years after his lights-out season with the New Jersey Jackals, even drew praise from opposing manager Clint Hurdle of the potent Pittsburgh Pirates. “He was really cool out there today, and he was very effective,” Hurdle told The Cincinnati Enquirer. “And the hitters were saying the same things–‘This guy’s pitching a good ballgame, he’s hitting his spots, he’s mixing it up.'”
