ALVAREZ'S GEM CARRIES AIGLES PAST CHAMPIONS

Edilson Alvarez’s (pictured) seven shutout innings carried the Aigles past the Champions 3-2. Alvarez allowed one unearned run on four hits, while striking out six in the win. The Aigles struck first in the game courtesy of a two-run single in the second inning by C Kyle Lafrenz. The Aigles added to their lead in the fifth inning with a solo homer from RF Connor Crane, his first of the season. New Jersey also beat Quebec 4-2 and Rockland beat Sussex County 5-4 on a walk-off fielder’s choice.
