MAY 29 LEAGUE RECAP Trois-Rivieres 8, Sussex County 2 (Game 1 – 7 Innings) – Box Score Trois-Rivieres jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one inning of play and would cruise from there to an 8-2 win over Sussex County in game one of a doubleheader. The Aigles collected 10 hits in the contest and was led by 3B Taylor Brennan who went 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI. Trois-Rivieres leadoff hitter Alexi Colon hit two doubles and plated two runs while SS Sam Dexter was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI. Aigles starting pitcher Kevin McNorton tossed his second complete game in as many starts to notch the victory. McNorton gave up two runs on four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts. For the Miners, 1B Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sussex County 9, Trois-Rivieres 6 (Game 2 – 7 Innings) – Box Score Designated hitter Luis Alen hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to give Sussex County the lead for good as the Miners beat Trois-Rivieres, 9-6 to gain a split in the twinbill.
