AIGLES' HOMERS LEAD TO VICTORY

The Trois-Rivieres Aigles rode the long ball to a 4-2 win against the Quebec Capitales. The Aigles homered three times in the game and went back-to-back in the top of the first inning to take the lead. With one out, RF Javier Herrera (pictured) hit his sixth home run of the year and in the next at bat CF Connor Crane, who went 3-for-4, belted his fifth. Herrera scored on a sac fly from 1B Alexander Ayala in the third and Ayala homered himself leading off the top of the sixth inning. Starting pitcher Chris Murphy (2-2) went eight innings in the winning effort and allowed two runs on six hits whiles striking out four batters.Elsewhere, Sussex County beat New Jersey 7-5, Rockland beat Cuba 6-5, and the Dominican Republic at Ottawa was rained out.
