UTICA, Mich. – Right-handed pitcher Austin Shea tossed 4.0 strong innings, striking out 9, and JD Stubbs went 1-for-2 and drove in a run to lead the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (21-17) to a 3-2 victory over the Westside Woolly Mammoths (14-24) in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader at Jimmy John’s Field.
Luke Fennelly and Wellington Guzman drove in the other runs for the Beavers. RHP Nick Shaw earned his fifth save of the season.
Tanner Thomas homered for the Mammoths, pushing his season total to three. Connor Bagnieski went 2-for-2 with one run scored.
