Sioux Falls 2, Fargo-Moorhead 0 – Box Sioux Falls starting pitcher Grady Wood and reliever Jose Ortega combined on a three-hit shutout as the Canaries beat Fargo-Moorhead, 2-0. Wood threw the first eight innings allowing only a pair of hits to go along with six strikeouts in 99 pitches. Ortega capped off the shutout by fanning a batter in the four batters faced in the ninth. Wood notched his fourth consecutive win while Ortega earned his third save. Offensively for Sioux Falls, RF Burt Reynolds and LF Ty Morrison each had 1-for-4 nights with a run scored. Wichita 4, Texas 2 – Box Right fielder Richard Prigatano’s two-run single in the fourth inning gave Wichita a 3-1 lead and that would be the difference in their 4-2 victory over Texas. Prigatano had two hits on the night to go along with a run scored and two RBI. Wingnuts 1B Matt Chavez scored two runs in a 1-for-3 night while DH Brent Clevlen collected a pair of hits in four at-bats.
