Winnipeg 8, Sioux Falls 1 – Box A five-run fourth inning helped push the Winnipeg Goldeyes past the Sioux Falls Canaries in front of 5,391 crowd celebrating Canada Day at the ballpark. Starter Mikey O’Brien threw a complete game, allowing just one earned run while striking out eight batters. LF Richard Hoopii-Haslam led the offensive charge going 2-for-4 with three RBI and was one of four Goldeyes to record two hits. For Sioux Falls, 1B David Bergin went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Lincoln 1, Fargo-Moorhead 0 – Box Lincoln starter Jeff McKenzie threw eight scoreless innings and 3B Luis Alen’s RBI groundout helped the Saltdogs secure a 1-0 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Reliever Evan Reed logged the save throwing a scoreless ninth inning. For Lincoln, SS Dainer Moreira and RF Austin Darby each had two hits. For Fargo-Moorhead, starter Taylor Stanton provided an excellent outing allowing one run over 7.1 innings. Kansas City 5, St. Paul 1 – Box Kansas City outhit St. Paul 11-3 to guide the T-Bones past the Saints 5-1.
