Wichita 4, Winnipeg 3 – Box Score 3B Chase Simpson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Wichita Wingnuts a 4-3 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Winnipeg drew first blood in the top of the third when 3B Josh Mazzola (3-for-4) plated CF Reggie Abercrombie with a single but LF Tony Thomas’ (2-for-4) RBI double in the fourth leveled the score. The Wingnuts pulled ahead 3-1 in the sixth as Thomas tripled home RF Angel Reyes (2-for-3) and then scored in the next at-bat on a pass ball. The Goldeyes tied things up again in the eighth with back-to-back RBI base hits from Mazzola and pinch hitter Josh McAdams, setting the stage for a dramatic finale. Simpson led off in the ninth and turned on a 2-2 delivery for his 12th home run of the season.
