Verrett Transferred to Mariners Organization

CLEBURNE, Texas (May 23, 2021) – The Cleburne Railroaders announced Sunday that the contract of right-handed pitcher Logan Verrett has been transferred to the Seattle Mariners. Verrett served as the Railroaders Opening Night starter on May 18, helping Cleburne to a 4-3 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks with six strong innings of work. The right-hander struck out seven, walked one, and allowed only three hits in a no-decision. Verrett becomes the fourth player in Railroaders franchise history to have his contract transferred to a Major League organization, joining right-handed pitchers Cortland Cox (Los Angeles Angels), Steve Pastora (Milwaukee Brewers), and Nick Gardewine (Arizona Diamondbacks), whose contract was transferred earlier this week.A native of The Woodlands, Texas, Verrett spent parts of four seasons in Major League Baseball with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers.
