Lincoln 5, Laredo 2 – Box *Photo courtesy of saltdogs.com Lincoln broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning as RBI singles from C Luis Alen and LF Jon Smith (pictured) sparked the Saltdogs’ 5-2 victory over the Laredo Lemurs. Starter Shairon Martis improved to 4-2 on the mound tossing six innings, allowing just two earned runs with seven strikeouts. The save went to reliever Evan Reed who threw a scoreless ninth inning. For Lincoln, Alen and Smith had two hits each to lead the offense. The Lemurs outhit the Saltdogs 12-8 and were paced by CF Drew Martinez going 3-for-5, increasing his season batting average to .301. RF Denis Phipps and SS Alvaro Rondon both went 2-for-4.
