Courtesy Winnipeg Goldeyes Media Relations Winnipeg, Manitoba – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced on Thursday that OF Josh Romanski’s contract has been purchased by the Minnesota Twins’ organization. Romanski becomes the third Goldeye signed by a Major League club this off-season and the 69th in franchise history. In January, catcher Tanner Murphy was purchased by the Colorado Rockies, while first baseman Jacob Rogers signed with the Texas Rangers with the intention of becoming a right-handed pitcher. Romanski batted .305 with nine home runs and 64 RBI in 91 games played for the Goldeyes last year. A native of Anaheim, Calif., Romanski ranked third in the American Association with 60 walks, and finished the season with a .409 on-base percentage. Romanski capped off one of the Goldeyes’ biggest wins of the year with a 10th-inning, walk-off home run against the St. Paul Saints on August 16th. The game was the completion of a suspended contest from July, and saw the Goldeyes come all the way back from a 9-1 deficit.
